Other planet like Earth
Other planet equal to the Earth becomes visible to the astronomers attentive eyes, orbiting a red dwarf star. It is close to us because its distance is simply 11 light-years.
What does that mean in astronomical terms? If our earth were a house and the other planet earth discovered its backyard.
His name is Ross 128b. It is the same size as our planet earth, a very similar temperature and is a place where there is probably extraterrestrial life, according to a new study. This NASA article also admits the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
Ross 128b, the other planet equal to the earth, is moving toward us. Thus, It will be our nearest stellar neighbor, 79,000 years from now, say scientists involved in the research.
Did you find a lot of time? You’re wrong. 79 thousand years is a blink of an eye in astronomical terms.
Dr. Nicola Astudillo-Defru
Astronomers working at the European Southern Observatory’s High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS) at the La Silla observatory in Chile. They found out the exoplanet orbits the red dwarf Ross every 9.9 days.
The name Ross pays homage to Frank Elmore Ross who discovered the red star.
The Doctor Nicola Astudillo-Defru, of the University of Geneva, Switzerland, co-author of the study, said:
“This discovery is based on more than a decade of HARPS intensive monitoring together with state-of-the-art data reduction and analysis techniques. Only HARPS has demonstrated such a precision, and it remains the best planet hunter of its kind, 15 years after it began operations.”
Red dwarfs are some of the coolest, lightest and most common stars in the Universe.
How many planets are there in the Universe
According to scientists it is virtually impossible to answer exactly how many planets exist in the Universe.
But they make some estimates. There is something in the Universe about 2 trillion galaxies. This number is 10 times more than previously thought. This estimate is based on data collected by the Hubble telescope.
It is estimated that only in our galaxy Milky Way exist about 100 billion stars. Each of these stars has at least one planet, according to statements by John Johnson, professor of astronomy at Caltech.
Summing up billions of planets in our galaxy, with billions of planets from each of the other galaxies, the result is gigantic. Probably the calculation would be wrong because of the immensity.
Thus, there are infinite worlds, among which many other planets equal the earth.
The Lord Jesus did not need HARPS or telescope to claim other lands:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14: 1-2). – King James Bible.
